Where are we?

The Pyramid next to the M60 motorway, Stockport.

We live in Stockport, a town of about 285000 people in the county of Cheshire. Follow this link to see where we are on Multimap.

Traditionally famous for its hat making, the town is probably more familiar to many for its impressive viaduct or more recently for the glass pyramid next to the motorway!

One of the beauties of living in Stockport is that we can enjoy both the nightlife of Manchester (cafe bars, restaurants, theatres, clubs, etc.) and the natural beauty of some of the country's most impressive National Parks. The Peak District is right on our doorstep, but both the Lake District and Snowdonia are less than 2 hours drive away.

Our local favourites

The Heatons Tandoori (on Shaw Road) is a regular dinner venue. Great Indian cuisine at a great price. It's so good, we rarely bother to venture to Manchester's famous "Curry Mile".

Our local cinema is a large and comfortable multiplex.

The Orangerie in Heaton Moor is good for Sunday brunch and has a sister cafe down the road, "Three Eleven", which is good for a lunch and a coffee.
